The Illustrative Fortran (IF) application software contains the same content as the Illustrative Fortran web version (IFW), but their format may differ at some points. Moreover, some features in the app may not exist in the web version, and vice versa.

The application software contains chapters of an ongoing programming language book project named Illustrative Fortran (IF). The project is meant for beginning programmers who wish to start with Fortran, and targeted to include all features of the Fortran programming language, with each feature being explained with simple terms for easy understanding. It is available for everyone to use in accordance with its terms. Experienced programmers who find Illustrative Fortran helpful can as well use it.

Currently, the application software and its counterpart web version contains just few chapters of the project. Updates to them will have more chapters and features added. Endeavour to visit the “how to use” part for information pertaining to how to use the version of the IF project that you have accessed.
